Socratic
Seminar
A Socratic Seminar is dialogue where students seek
deeper understanding of complex ideas. Students evaluate ideas, issues, and
values in texts and share different perspectives. The discussion is a dialogue
not a debate. Students are encouraged to share these ideas and think out loud,
while asking higher order questions in a polite manner.
