Barnes & Noble My Favorite Teacher Contest
Barnes & Noble is recognizing teachers with its nationwide “My Favorite Teacher Contest.”
Middle and high school students are invited to write an essay, poem, or thank you
letter describing their favorite teacher and how he or she influenced them.
Schools will collect the entries and submit them to the nearest Barnes & Noble location.
A local winner will be entered into the regional contest for the chance to
win a $500 Barnes & Noble gift card. The regional winner moves on to the
national contest for a chance to receive $5,000 for themselves and $5,000 for their school.

Celebration of the Arts Submissions
Submissions are now being accepted for the 2017 Celebration of the Arts that is on March 16, 2017. Submissions can be sent by email (video or sound file links), shared through One Drive, or thumb drives can be dropped off at the arts office between 8 a.m. and 5p.m.
Visual art submissions are due on February 17.

Anne Frank: A History for Today
“Anne Frank: A History for Today” And “Voices of Hope Initiative”
The “Anne Frank: A History for Today” exhibit runs through Sunday, February 12 at the Museum of Science and History. The exhibit is part of a community-wide “Voices of Hope Initiative” that promotes productive discussion addressing prejudice and discrimination during the Holocaust and today. Most events relating to the “Voices of Hope Initiative” – including the Anne Frank exhibit – are FREE.
