Poison Prevention Partner has announced two contests for National Poison Prevention Week that is March 20-26, 2016.  Deadline for both contests is January 25, 2016.

Poster Contest:
Three divisions: K-2, 3-5, and 6-8.
Themes: “Children Act Fast, So Do Poisons,” and “Poisonings Span a Lifetime.”
Important Note: Entries should be no larger than 11x17” and copies will not be accepted.

Video Contest:
Two divisions: Middle School and High School.
Themes: “Children Act Fast, So Do Poisons,” and “Poisonings Span a Lifetime.”

Important Note: No more than four students are allowed to participate in the video.

Positively Jax Student PSA Contest

2016 Positively Jax Student PSA Contest

WJXT Channel 4 wants to hear what issues are important to teens through the “2016 Positively Jax Student PSA Contest.” Students in grades 5-12 must create a storyboard for a 30-second Public Service Announcement on an issue that affects teens.  The concept must be an original idea. 

 Individuals or a team of students (not more than three per team) enrolled in public, private, or home schools in the Jacksonville, Florida television market can enter.  One winner from an Elementary School, Middle School, and High School will be chosen to have their PSA professionally produced to air on WJXT Channel 4, ThisTV Jacksonville and News4Jax.com.  No video entries will be accepted.

Please share with high school students.  Poison Prevention Week Video Contest In acknowledgement of National Poison Prevention Week (March 15 - 21), the Florida/USVI Poison Information Center – Jacksonville is inviting all high school students to participate in its inaugural Poison Prevention Video Contest. Videos must focus on one of two themes – “Children Act Fast, So Do Poisons” or “Poisonings Span a Lifetime” -- and will be judged in the 30, 60, and 120 seconds category. Public Service Announcement Contest

Public Service Announcement Contest Positively Jax Student PSA Contest Students in grades 5-12 are invited to submit a storyboard for an original 30 second Public Service Announcement focused on an issue that is important to teens, i.e. body image, relationships, depression, etc. Students can enter individually or in a group of no more than three members. One winner from each school level will have the PSA professionally produced and aired on Channel 4. Submissions must be mailed or delivered by a school representative to WJXT Channel 4, located at 4 Brodacast Place; 32207, or emailed to contest@wjxt.com by Dec. 19. Poster Contest: Voice Against Bullying

The CyberBully Hotline has launched its second 'Voice Against Bullying' contest. To enter the contest, students should post a picture of a poster that shows how they would stop bullying in their schools. They should post it to their non-private Instagram account using #voiceagainstbullying. The winner will receive $100! Money Wise Contest

Wi$e Money Kids Essay $2,500 will be awarded to two winners! Students must be prepared for life-long successful financial decisions. Two students (one boy, one girl) will be named this year’s Wi$e Money Kids and will each receive a $2,500 local college scholarship. This contest is for Middle School students who will submit an essay answering the 2014 Question and highlighting the importance of being Wi$e about Money. The winners will read their winning essays at the Third Annual Jacksonville Wi$e Money Week Kickoff Breakfast on Monday, May 12, 2014. The winners and their families will be recognized by the Honorable Alvin Brown, Mayor of Jacksonville. Essay Submission Deadline is April 18th.
