“Finding Help, Finding Hope” Essay Contest

“Finding Help, Finding Hope” Essay Contest

Middle and high school students are invited to participate in the “Finding Help, Finding Hope” Essay Contest as an opportunity for youth to celebrate mental health and social and emotional well-being. The essay contest will provide a glimpse into youth perspectives about mental health and solutions in addressing mental health stigma and disparities. 

Middle school students should limit their essays to 250 words, while high school students have a 500-word limit.

Registration : 7:30 am
Zoo Walk : Begins at 8:30 am
Children 12 & under FREE
                           Ages 13 and up - $15 Per Person
(includes ALL day zoo admission)
Purpose: To raise awareness, support and raise funds to assist those in our community with Autism.

Middle School Art Exhibition

Middle School Art Exhibition

The Middle School Art Exhibition opens April 14 and will run until April 28 at the Florida State College of Jacksonville Kent Campus Art Gallery (Building E-112A). This district-wide show features over 120 pieces of individual and collaborative work from student artists. An opening reception will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. April 14.

Living History Weekend

Experience what it was like living in Jacksonville in 1864 on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 with Living History Weekend at Camp Milton Historic Preserve! The two-day event includes scripted scenarios; first-hand reenactments of skirmishes, raids, battles, and civilian town life; and many more historical activities. Admission is FREE both days.
