Lee Early College

It’s that time of year! Time for your 8th grade students to set their high school plans in action! Attached is the application for the Early College program at Robert E. Lee High School.  Don’t forget to include sharing with your 7th and 6th grade students as some of the eligibility requirements mean planning early. For examples, 7th grade State Reading scores are considered for eligibility and students must complete Algebra 1 by the end of 8th grade. Thank you in advance for sharing! Send questions my way, if needed.

What is Early College?
A unique opportunity for students to earn their AA degree while enrolled in high school. Yes, students earn their high school diploma and AA degree at the same time! The program is free for students (tuition and books covered), but does entail a high level of academic work. For students who love to learn, are eager to take rigorous courses, and want to get a jump on college – this is the program for them! Our Early College program is a separate application process from School Choice. Students must complete and submit the attached application to REL by February 16th to be considered for enrollment. Applications received after the deadline will only be reviewed if there are seats available.

What can Robert E Lee offer students?
Besides the Early College program, we have a SEAM Magnet program (applications available through School Choice) and the REL LEEders program (students must live in Lee’s neighborhood to participate in this program). We also have phenomenal Band, Chorus, ROTC, Culinary, Logistics, Computer, and athletic programs. Check us out! We are destined to LEEd!  The link below is a slideshow highlighting Lee students. Feel free to view and share as you like. It is self-directed and has music. Once you download it and click Play, you can sit back and enjoy the show.
